What They Say About Us

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What services do you provide?

We paint aluminium joinery and all kinds of metals.

We restore. Overtime, as your aluminium joinery gets exposed to harsh external elements and weathering, it oxidises and its colour would diminished overtime giving it an old and run down look that can ruin the overall impression on your home or down-sell the value of your property.  Fortunately, we can restore your joinery’s colour whether you want the existing colour or a new colour of your choice we guarantee that the end result will refresh, give a new vibrant appeal and add value to your home.

We recolour. Your joinery may still be in mint condition however, you may be wanting to update, upgrade or modernised it’s look. Fortunately, aluminium are built to last so even though trends may change, it can be remediated by just recolouring your joinery to your colour of choice and basically to any colour you fancy!

We repair. Your joinery’s powder coat may have been damaged due to breakage, or hard impact causing visible scratch, dent, holes etc. Or you may be a new build contractor and because of the many trades working on your site simultaneously, causing inevitable powder coat damages on the joinery, you need our services to repair these damages for handover prior to your clients moving in or taking over. We have worked with various contractors, and this is when we come in handy because we can repair newly powder coated joinery back to its mint and pristine condition.

Can you colour match?

Choose your colour of choice and the finish (matte, satin or gloss) and we will source them out for you. For other paints that’s not in the colour range available over the shelves from our paint supplier, we may require a colour sample so we can colour match them for you. In cases like this, depending on the colour range, we may require you to advise us of the colour ahead of time so we can arrange this in time for your schedule.

What is your process?

We start by prepping the surface before applying primer and topcoats depending on the type of aluminium joinery you have. For a more detailed process, you may refer to “Our Process” page.

What is the difference of brush painting and house paint to powder coating using spray gun on aluminium joinery?

We use spray guns and powder coat paints which is mainly used for coating metals. The paints we used are commercial and marine grade. When we spray paint, we ensure we cover even hard to reach angles. We start with a thin coverage, then we build it up from there leaving a smoother and hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. This process offers more long-term benefits and are more resistant to diminished coating quality as a result of impact, moisture, chemicals, UV light, and other extreme weather conditions. Brush painting on the other hand is thicker, takes time to dry, won’t achieve factory like finish as it leaves brush marks and are more susceptible to chipping.

Can you paint exterior and/or interior only?

Typically, we would recolour all interior and exterior surfaces, and would highly recommend this. However, we also understand our clients’ budgets and respect their preferences. Some joinery that’s been well maintained over the years may also not need interior recolouring as interiors are exposed in controlled environment while the exterior part of your joinery is exposed to harsh external elements and weathering which contributes to fast fading of colour and oxidation.

Do you also replace rubbers, mohair, latches, stays, and handles?

We don’t normally replace any hardware or rubbers. However, we can add this to the scope as add-on cost of hardware and rubbers and can include installation free of charge depending on the complexity of hardware installation and nos. to install. We can also recolour old window latches and handles if they are made of metal to make them look near new again.

Can you paint anodised joinery?

Yes, we can. The process on painting anodised joinery may differ to a powder coated one, as anodised will require a primer prior to applying topcoats and the process is more tedious and a lot longer.

Where do you provide your services?

We work mainly around wider Auckland. However, we can always mobilise our team to travel across New Zealand around Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Wellington, or South Island on a booking basis.

Our services ranges from residential homes, commercial and office buildings, and new builds.

How much does it cost?

Every house or job is different, and this may depend on the following below. However, we can guarantee that the cost is a lot less than the actual cost of replacing your joinery.

  • amount of work that needs to be done on the joinery i.e. rust and corrosion, damage on the powder coat and aluminium
  • easy access to the joinery some may require scaffolds which will add cost to the job
  • size of the job i.e. number of windows / doors and size
