Recolouring / Painting Anodised Aluminium Joinery
People may wonder if anodised aluminium joinery can also be recoloured / repainted. if you are one of the many, the answer to this is – YES! In layman’s term, anodised joinery is a ‘coloured joinery’ through electrolytic surface treatment which creates a hard, durable, corrosion-resistant, finish. However, overtime as it gets exposed to external elements and weathering its finish can diminish looking pale and dull, oxidation and corrosion may also be evident after many years of exposure to weather.
And we get it, it’s a hard surface to paint as the process is not easy. There is no shortcutting the process in repainting anodised joinery, and you also cannot compromise the right material that you will use. Every step of the process has to be meticulously and precisely done. The preparatory work is much longer than a usual powder coated finish. And a specially formulated etch primer is used to ensure adhesion to the aluminium joinery prior to applying topcoats.
And just like any other alumimium surface we have painted we leave your joinery with a long-lasting finish that not only can withstand extreme weather condition and temperatures but also add many more years of life to it with a warranty that guarantees our work.
